Introducing the 2024 Lexus GX 550: The Perfect Blend of Luxury and Off-Road Prowess

Lexus raises the bar for the adventure-ready SUV market with the unveiling of the 2024 Lexus GX 550. The brainchild of a complete redesign, the all-new GX brings to life the concept of a "Sophisticated Utility Vehicle," combining the luxury and elegance that defines Lexus with impressive off-road capability and remarkable features.

Beneath the hood of the GX 550 lies a formidable 3.4L twin-turbo V6 engine, delivering a robust 349 horsepower and a remarkable 479 lb.-ft. of torque. This powertrain outperforms its predecessor, allowing for up to 8,000 lbs. of towing capacity in the Signature, Premium, and Overtrail grades. Notably, Lexus has announced a hybrid powertrain, set to be available at a later date.

Exterior design cues showcase an unmistakable aggressive persona, the epitome of off-road functionality in a true body-on-frame SUV. The 2024 GX 550 features a solid, horizontally flowing body with an increased wheelbase of 60 mm. The highlight, undoubtedly, is the first-ever Overtrail grade with standard 33-inch All-Terrain tires wrapped around 18-inch wheels, offering optimal off-road performance. 

The new GX doesn’t shy away from luxury inside. A lower, horizontal instrument panel design extends into the dashboard, offering excellent visibility and an uncluttered front-seat experience. The centrepiece is the standard 14-inch multimedia touchscreen, supported by the Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 and the Lexus Interface. Wireless Apple CarPlay Integration and Android Auto compatibility also come as standard. 

Seating for up to seven, heated and ventilated seats, and thoughtful ergonomic improvements add to the comfort and convenience of the GX. An increase in interior storage space and a wireless charger in the front console tray further underline the vehicle’s practicality.
